Wegovy under the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge

Short answer: CMS includes Wegovy injections and tablets in the Bridge for eligible weight-management prescriptions. An approved covered 28-day or 30-day fill has a $50 copay. Prescriptions for a Part D-covered indication follow that separate route.

Injection and tablet are different formulations
Wegovy contains semaglutide. The injection is administered weekly and tablets daily. Instructions and doses differ; ask your clinician and pharmacist to explain the prescribed formulation rather than applying an injection schedule to tablets.
The label includes different indications by formulation. A prescription for cardiovascular-event risk reduction belongs with Part D even when weight management is also intended. The injection also has a noncirrhotic MASH indication; check the form-specific label.
Check the prescription and authorization together
Confirm your starting BMI, indication, eligible plan enrollment and prior Part D GLP-1 history with the prescriber. The pharmacy submits a Bridge claim before the prescriber completes PA.
